Best Small Fictions Nominations

Best Small Fictions has a new publisher. Black Lawrence press took over this prestigious publication and there’ll now be a 1.5-year 2027 issue covering 2025 and 2026 works.We sent nominations of winning stories from the Award last year. They will still consider those stories for the 2027 issue and we can also send five more nominations for the period January to July 2026.

Third Prize from BFFA February 2026: ‘the rabbit hole i fall down at 3.07 am’ by Letty Butler
Highly Commended from BFFA June 2026: The Siren Squad Tries a New Flyer</a> by Kate Horsley

The final round of BFFA for 2026 closes two weeks today, on Sunday October 4th. We always nominate from the winners of the award for Best Small Fictions and other awards. Thank you to everyone who has sent in stories so far. We’re busy reading now
